How Much Space You Actually Need for a Float Setup

One of the most common questions we get is about space.

Not pricing. Not equipment.

Just:

“Do I even have room for this?”

Most people picture something much bigger than it actually is.

A full buildout. Multiple rooms. A large commercial space.

But a single float setup is a lot simpler than that.

In most cases, you’re looking at a room in the range of:

Roughly 8x10 to 10x10 feet.

That’s enough space for the unit itself, plus comfortable access around it.

It doesn’t need to be complicated.

What matters more is that the space is:

  • clean
  • private
  • easy to access

The float pod itself is self-contained.

It manages its own filtration, temperature, and core systems.

So you’re not building out a complex mechanical room or adding layers of infrastructure.

A nearby shower is ideal.

That can be:

  • an existing bathroom
  • or a simple shower setup

It doesn’t need to be overbuilt.

From there, most of the work is just making the space feel good.

Lighting. Towels. Clean finishes. A calm environment.

That’s what shapes the experience.

We’ve seen float setups work in:

  • small studios
  • extra rooms inside existing wellness spaces
  • garage conversions
  • compact commercial units

It’s less about the size of the space and more about how it’s used. This is one of the reasons a lot of people start here. It doesn’t require a massive footprint to get something up and running.

If you have a single room you can dedicate to it, you’re closer than you think.
